Feedback of Rough cut 2

As our class was in the age group of our target audience, we decided to have the class watch our main brief to give us some feedback. If there are any suggestions, we will try to use them in order to improve our main brief.

One thing that went well in our rough cut was that our mise en scene worked well, this is vital as miss en scene communicates ideas to the audience to suggest that it is a horror film . Another positive was that we also had a good range of shots. Whilst filming, we tried to get as many different types of shots that are typically used in horror films, such as a tracking shot.

From our feedback, what needed to be improved in the main brief, is that there needs to be sound effects. Sound effects are extremely important in horror films, as they are typically used to create tension and suspense. As we took some shots without a tri-pod, the camera was slightly shaky, which gave an unprofessional look to our piece. Although, some shots was not able to be stable, for example tracking shots, which I think are vital in psychological horrors where there someone being followed. Some particular shots was not able to be stable (the tracking shots). We could re-film this and use a skateboard and place the tri-pod on it to keep it stable when moving.

At the start, with the phone call of Emily calling her sister, she had her coat on because she was preparing to go out.
